Long Dry Spell
While it is not that I have not been busy, I have. Today, I am 62. My artwork though reduced in production from 20 pieces a week to about 5 a year is a considerable difference. My work when sold through a gallery went for $17.00 per square inch back in the late 70's. I no longer persue galleries to represent me. I am disabled since October 2003, but I still manage to work about 12 hours a week in my basement studio. My ability to create is still there. I could no longer meet deadlines for my commercial clients. I quit all my publishing accounts. I wish everybody well!

knowing too well , being disabled myself, it is so important to still be able to create~! I have been in a dry spell for some time and not painting much of anything the passed 2 yrs except blank walls & trim, I have busied myself with digital painting for a while but they are so tedious and time consuming I had to stop and while I hope to get back to painting soon, nothing moves me to start, Instead i try when possible to get online and help promote art all over and develop this site so all of us may someday prosper, but as we get older [ I am 57] opportunities become far and few in between, especially since I have mobility problems so I have to use the internet to connect for now. I would love to participate in an art show out doors again or at a gallery in a big city [ I am from NYC] but have lived inland for so long I feel like an outsider or visitor when I go back to NYC, lol...cant really take much of that hustle and bustle I once thrived on.
This site has gotten expensive for me as well and now I am trying to cut down on some bandwidth and have been trying to find the time to delete pics people have posted over the years that are either duplicates or non gallery status, like snapshots and non printable samples which can be placed in forums or comments elsewhere, while they sit in the gallery cost bandwidth, so now I am asking members to go through their work here and for free members to move their work into the categories section and delete them from the gallery,. Old timers to the site can still keep a gallery page or two, but have to realize what is here is costing me mostly out of my own pension~!! I would say to keep about 20-40 [1-2 gallery pages] at most per person would cut my expenses down alot since I never did get the big advertisers here yet.[certain pdts I just dont want cluttering this site since it is so big to begin with]
