Airbrush Class

I finally succumbed to the prodding of my Logansport Art Association to teach a class in basic airbrush. True to their word Bill Dahman came to my home and helped move my equipment to LAA for the class. I was worn down before the class started just setting everthing up. It is great fun to see such enthuseasim first hand. We covered a lot of ground regarding the airbrush types, models, specific uses, with hands on paper, and polyester masking. I demonstrated the various airbrush strokes and…See More

Long Dry Spell

Posted on October 6, 2011 at 2:44am 1 Remark

While it is not that I have not been busy, I have. Today, I am 62. My artwork though reduced in production from 20 pieces a week to about 5 a year is a considerable difference. My work when sold through a gallery went for $17.00 per square inch back in the late 70's. I no longer persue galleries to represent me. I am disabled since October 2003, but I still manage to work about 12 hours a week in my basement studio. My ability to create is still there. I could no longer meet deadlines for my…

LAA 4TH Thursday Meeting July

Posted on July 31, 2009 at 9:07pm 0 Remarks

At this months meeting the speakers were Tom and Terri Partridge from the Pear Tree Gallery. The topic was Framing. Tom is a nationally recognized framing specialist who spent some time recently in the conservation area of the Indianapolis Museum of Art or IMA. Getting familiar with the IMA's conservation of art through proper framing. He graciously gave us some handouts regarding the Do's and the Don't's. There are three varieties of glass to be used in framing; window glass, UV glass, and… Continue

Logansport Art Association, (LAA) 4TH Thursday Meeting

Posted on July 15, 2009 at 4:03am 1 Remark

The last week in June there were a bunch of serious artists gathered to discuss a number of topics. One of these were sales. Another was donation of work for Logansport's bid for a new factory. It seems there is this town in Japan which maybe interested in bringing new jobs to our town. The Japanese delegation has already visited our city. Our city delegation will be going there in October. Our culture seems to be begging for a big let down. I am suppose to keep my opinion to myself on this… Continue

Hi Stan~ I edited a few more of your pictures. They all need to have your name and a title , description & prices, as well as tags. Only your art for sale needs this info. Sample pictures should be limited to 3 with information as to services you are providing. If you check Page 9 there are tips and info on taking care of this. :)Ave

Hey Stan,
Thanks for the add request.
I put so much information on my artwork for entirely selfish reasons. If I find combinations of materials that I like, I want to be able to duplicate them later.
Have a great evening,
Fran
